I just recently ordered your kit. I was at our flying field yesterday and one person had a profile plane. Was really impressed how it flew. I am currently flying a U CAN DO 60 with a 1.0 Saito in front. I am practing Harriers inverted and can hover some I am keeping it high at the moment. I fly on the sim at least 1 to 2 times a day. I am getting obsessed with trying to learn these 3d manuvers.

Are there any mixes that I can do to help me with some of these manuvers?
I am working on hovering and the harrier.

Thanks.

You're gonna have trouble learning 3d with a U CAN DO...... I'm not a big fan of mixing for learning 3d. You want to cut your expo down to something under 30% - 35%, then back off your rates until you can control the plane. Excessive control movement does not necessarily make for good 3d, especially if your learning.

Why will it be hard to learn with this plane? I do have the rates turned down. Will you design be better for the 3d?

Thanks

The Mojo flys much lighter on the wing than the U Can Do. You'll also find that there is less wing rock to manage. All you need to do is burn lots of fuel and you'll acquire the skills you seek.

My Mojo 40 (kit built) tips to either side when I try to take off so it hasn't been in the air yet. It weighs 4lb 1oz and I have to use a little rudder to take off because my tail wheel sucks. Do I need everything to just line up better or does anybody else have this problem?

I built my Mojo 40 with a fixed wire tail skid instead of a wheel. With a .55AX in the nose, it takes off in about 10 feet, so it really doesn't matter too much what the tail skid is doing.

It's pretty normal to need rudder on takeoff for any plane, they tend to pull to the right when you hit the throttle, so some left rudder is usually needed.

Good luck

I'll try to fly it again today. We'll see if it leaves the ground this time...

Just got back from a funfly at the field. WOW, did some tweeking, got my mousse can on there and tuned up the engine so I throttled up at ZOOM it was off. Needed some up trim and a lil right aileron because I didn't get them flat on the ground. Did maybe 10 3d flights and it rocks. It's WAY WAY underpowered with my wimpy lil 1970's .45 engine, but it's got just enough to hover and then inch it's way out. Landings are amazing just floats in, weighs 4lb so it just floats around but is surprisingly fast on the flyby's. New favorite plane, just gotta get a decent power plant on there. Flew in 15-20 mph wind gusts and it's didn't mind one bit. Really nice to fly for my first 3d plane.

Glad to hear you got it going. Small tail wheels or tail skids are the key to easy take offs. Lots of times I just hand launch mine.
