Hey Paul and everyone else-
I like the place very much- I gotta say, my first post was in the Favorite Verses Room- Wow this place is unreal " Planes and Jesus" NICE!
Well anyhow,
I have never built a Kit- I get intimadated about covering mostly I believe. But is the Burrito the way to go? I have build lots of ARF's but I want the best building advice from you guys.
I have not flown for about a year because I just got married, I sold all of my RC stuff, my wife already had twin boys (9yrs old now) so I adopted them and now they have my name because their dad is not in the picture at all, and then my Pastor made us an offer for us to move into the house behind our church to be the Maintenace guy (I also work for our local Water Dist. on our Sewage treatment plant)....to say its been a little crazy is an understatement- but just so totally awesome.
Could you guys imagine this- we have a pretty good size dirt lot on the side of the church which is a baseball field- what do you think.....Fly in baby!

Greetings and welcome Ryontd! From the sound of things you have really been getting your socks blessed off. That is great! I'll throw my 2cents in for the MoJo but the burrito is good as well as the Primo (I haven't flown a primo yet).

Welcome Ryontd! Glad you could join us.... The Church property deal sounds pretty cool... Glad the Lord is blessing you... Just pray that the church your living behind stays true to the faith, cause you're committed now!
As far as the kits go, the Burrito is probably the easiest building kit.... The Mojo is the most stable and more capable than the burrito... The Primo is the most capable and aggressive out of the bunch!

I would say the toughest thing about living here is dealing with some of the people Some are old and set in there ways on how they want things done (landscaping wise) and when we do something the opposite (which by the way was ordered to us by the Pastor himself LOL) you hear the little comments here and there- but hey, whatever- were just doing what my wife and I were told. Anyhow, I just want a plane to practice hovering and flying around- your description on the burrito sounds like it is pretty tuff so I think this would be great- plus you say it is the easiest to build. I am really looking forward to spending some time in here doing the whole Bible stuty with you guys.

Welcome...Burrito is a great kit to build to get into the swing of building and a great flying machine....
That would be nice to use that area as a flying field so close to the house...I don't know what I would do if I could fly everyday!

Building seems intimidating, but it is not too bad. For me, I find that staying on a project and getting it all done is waayy harder than the actual construction . Make sure you have a big flat surface to build on and go at it. One of my fav. tools is a 4 ft alum straightedge. 1st thing you can do with it is make sure your building surface is flat. Theres so many uses for it when building, making sure everything is straight and measuring distances when gluing on surfaces. Paul has great instructions and will answer any questions you have right away. I like to keep organized and follow the instructions carefully - it will all work out.
Covering is also pretty straightforward - I would highly recommend using Ultracote and I feel it is more forgiving and easier to work with than Monocoat. Here again, if you follow the instructions that come with the roll it goes pretty well.
